3 Steps to Clean Your Rattan Lighting
1. Safety First & Pre-Dusting (5 mins)
Turn off the light switch and ensure the bulb is completely cool. Use a microfiber cloth, a feather duster, or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to gently remove loose dust from both the exterior and interior of the weave.
2. Targeted Deep Cleaning (10 mins)
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap into a bowl of warm water. Dip a soft microfiber cloth into the soapy water, squeeze it out thoroughly until it is barely damp, and gently wipe down the rattan strands. For tight gaps in the weave, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to dislodge trapped particles.
3. Thorough Drying (15 mins)
Moisture is natural fiber's worst enemy. Immediately wipe down the fixture with a clean, dry cloth. Leave the light off for at least 30 minutes to ensure the canopy, cord, and woven shade are 100% dry before flipping the switch.
